The Association of Otolaryngologists of India – Research & Education Foundation is a registered Trust registered with Charity Commissioner Office, Mumbai. The Association of Otolaryngologists of India – Research & Education Foundation founded on 26th December, 1985, by Late Dr.L.H.Hiranandani, Original Trustee, Late Dr.P.P.Karnik, Original Trustee,Late Dr.Prem Kakar, Late Dr. K.L.Shah, Original Trustee and the President of The Association of Otolaryngologists of India, Dr. M.V.Ingle, Secretary of The Association of Otolaryngologists of India and Dr.A.G.Pusalkar, Treasurer, The Association of Otolaryngologists of India with the aim of (i) encourage and advance the study and practice of the Science of Otolaryngology (ii) receive donations and contributions from the members as well as non-members for the advancement of Otolaryngology (iii) advancement of research & education in Otolaryngology and related sciences, including, in particular, Head & Neck Oncology, Rhino Plastic and facial cosmetic surgery and otoneurology and/or any other medical science – To institute award and/or grant scholarships, fellowships to deserving post-graduate students, research worker or any other person, interested in study or research related in the specified medical sciences. To institute Travel fellowship grant within or out of India for purpose of advancement of study and research in the specified medical sciences. To institute visiting professorship in India and for this purpose to invite and assist financially or otherwise, visiting professors and to make all arrangements incidental thereto. To institute award and grant research fellowship. To publish and distribute books, postal instructions and/or to operate a library for purpose of advancement of medical sciences. To prepare, purchase or obtain slides, films, video films and other related educational aids for circulating, giving, lending, renting out and/or exhibiting for purposes related to the advancement of study and research in the specified medical sciences. To hold instructional courses, workshops, and/or camps in the specified medical sciences. To buy land or properties or to construct buildings or part thereof for any of the aforesaid purposes.
At present there are 2 Permanent Trustees, i.e. Dr.S.B.Ogale and Dr.Renuka Bradoo and due to the death of Dr.Prem Kakar, Dr.Samir Bhargava has been appointed in the place of Dr.Prem Kakar. Drs. Prathmesh Pai and Dr.Sanjay Agarwal are the Aditional Trustees and Drs. Samir Bhargava, President, AOI, Dr.Yogesh Dabholkar, Secretary, AOI and Dr.Kaushal Sheth, Treasurer, AOI are the Ex-official Trustees of The Association of Otolaryngologists of India – Research & Education Foundation.
At present The Association of Otolaryngologists of India – Research & Education Foundation is giving grant for CME program during the AOICON every year.
The Association of Otolaryngologists of India – Research & Education Foundation is also giving grant for Mid Term Conference held by the AOI branches at difference places.
